Police: Man broke into ex’s Brandonville home
BRANDONVILLE – A man is facing burglary and trespassing charges, among others, after police say he broke into his ex’s home via a window screen this morning.
East Union Township Police said they were called to a home on Main Boulevard in Brandonville around 11:45am for reports of a break-in in progress.
A 911 caller reported that his 10-year-old daughter told him her mother’s ex-boyfriend had broken into the home through a window and was now in a bedroom, while the rest of the home’s occupants were hiding from him.
Police arrived and met with the homeowner, who was arriving home. The responding officer, Chief Thomas J. Rentschler, told the caller about the 911 call, and was allowed into the home.
Rentschler found a window screen in a downstairs bathroom had been cut before finding the actor, 25-year-old Jeremey Daniel Ragan, formerly of Hazleton, in his ex-girlfriend’s bedroom.
When confronted by police, Ragan claimed he was allowed to be there and, when asked how he got there, he said he cut the window screen.
Ragan was then taken into custody.
Police then spoke to his ex and her 10-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son.
The ex-girlfriend told police she had been sleeping and was awoken when Ragan climbed into her bed.
She added that she had to call police overnight, around 1:30am, because Ragan had been texting her, saying he was outside and, if she wouldn’t talk to him or let him in, “he was going to smash out her windows.”
Ragan is facing charges of burglary, criminal trespass, stalking, and criminal mischief.
He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison by on-call Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on $75,000 straight cash bail.
