NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a collection of police incidents reported by law enforcement agencies in and around the northern Schuylkill County area.

Theft

WALKER TWP. – A Fleetwood woman is facing charges after police say she stole $2,000 in household items from a Shenandoah woman’s campsite and camper in Walker Township.

Charges are pending against a 42-year-old Fleetwood woman for the theft earlier this month, State Police at Frackville reported.

The theft was reported around 1:30pm Tuesday.

Troopers said $2,000 in various household items were swiped from a Shenandoah woman’s campsite and camper on Valley Road in Walker Township.

As of Thursday evening, charges had not yet been filed against the woman troopers named as the suspect.

Criminal Mischief

SELTZER – State troopers are investigating after they say someone detonated a mailbox in Norwegian Township earlier this month.

According to State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident happened on Brier City Road on May 7 around 9:30pm.

Troopers said someone placed an unknown explosive device inside a mailbox, destroying it.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Schuylkill Haven barracks at 570-754-4600.

Theft

YATESVILLE – State troopers are seeking whoever swiped a trail camera from Reading Anthracite property near here.

State Police at Frackville were called to 120 Yatesville Road around 9:30am May 12 for a reported theft.

Someone had stolen a Reconyx trail camera from Reading Anthracite property, in the woodlands nearby, some time between 6:15pm and 7:30pm May 10, troopers said.

Anyone with information should call State Police at Frackville at 570-874-5300.

Theft

SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah man and Frackville woman are facing theft charges after police say they swiped a tool bag and plywood from a home undergoing renovations.

Brooke Huben, 37, of West Morris Street, Frackville, and Ryan Shoup, 28, of South Bower Street, Shenandoah, were both charged with misdemeanor theft and receiving stolen property.

According to the criminal complaints filed by Shenandoah Police Patrolman Mark Hysock, the thefts occurred at 432 West Lloyd Street in the borough around 8:15pm Saturday. The home has been abandoned for many years and renovations recently began on the home.

The victim told police that a tool bag had been swiped and a GPS tracker was inside as he’d been the victim of theft before. He also provided photos of the suspects and the current location of the GPS tracker.

Police went to that location and found a man, later identified as Shoup, securing a sheet of plywood to the roof of an SUV. Huben was inside the vehicle.

Shoup told police he was told he could go inside the home and take the items. Both Shoup and Huben later told police that they took the drill bag and sheet of plywood and reiterated.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for June.

Fleeing or Eluding

FRACKVILLE – A Frackville man is facing charges after police say he led them on a chase through Frackville riding an offroad motorcycle.

Philip Klemow, 38, of Wylam Street, was charged with misdemeanor fleeing and reckless endangerment.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Frackville Police Patrolman Bryce Dragna, the officer saw the bike traveling on East Spring Street around 6pm on May 7. The bike did not have a registration plate.

Police said the motorcyclist ran the red light at Lehigh and Spring streets before a traffic stop was attempted.

The rider, later identified as Klemow, then fled on Spring and Beech streets. The pursuit zig-zagged streets in town and officers said Klemow nearly hit a man working on his vehicle.

At one point, the motorcycle stalled and the pursuit ended near 9th and Spring Streets as the motorcycle malfunctioned. Klemow told police that he knew officers were trying to stop him near Memorial Park.

The motorcycle was towed by Steve’s Towing and Klemow was released pending misdemeanor charges.

A preliminary hearing on those charges is set for June 18.
