NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a collection of police incidents reported by local law enforcement agencies in our region.
Counterfeit License Plate
SHENANDOAH – Charges are pending against a 22-year-old Shenandoah man, accused of having a fake Vermont license plate in the rear window of his car.
State Police at Frackville said they stopped a 2010 Mazda on West Centre Street in the borough around 6pm Sunday.
The vehicle had a counterfeit Vermont license plate in the rear window and the vehicle had no active registration or insurance.
The vehicle was towed and charges are pending.
Vehicle Accident
PATTERSONVILLE – A Ringtown woman was cited after a two-car crash in Union Township Tuesday afternoon.
State Police at Frackville said the crash happened around 2pm at Ringtown Boulevard and Shenandoah Road in Pattersonville.
Jeanetta Amodio, 22, of Ringtown, was driving a 2016 Nissan Rogue on Shenandoah Road and had stopped at Ringtown Boulevard.
A 2014 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 23-year-old Deanna Hoffman, was approaching.
Amodio did not see the Jeep and pulled onto the road. Hoffman attempted to avoid a collision, troopers said.
All involved were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. Amodio had a 52-year-old woman as a passenger and Hoffman had an infant in a child safety seat.
Flight
GIRARDVILLE – A man wanted after he skipped sentencing for a drug crime conviction in New York was arrested in our area and faces more charges here.
Donnie Bonham, 54, was arrested Thursday on misdemeanor flight and evading arrest charges.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Trooper Shane Clark of the State Police at Frackville, troopers were called to the 200 block of East Ogden Street in Girardville for a reported disturbance.
One of the involved parties, identified as Bonham, had an active extradition warrant out of Schuyler County, New York.
Troopers spoke to Bonham in the front doorway of his home and asked him to come outside. He said he was fine then slammed and locked the front door.
Another trooper went to the rear of the home and saw Bonham near the back porch, directing him to stop and show his hands. He didn’t and ran up onto the back porch and to the rear door of the home. Troopers deployed a taser device and brought Bonham into custody using force.
Bonham had suspected methamphetamine and a smoking device on his person, troopers said, and told them he “smoked some meth last night.”
He was arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $100,000 bail. Extradition to Schuyler County, New York is pending.
Criminal Trespass
MAHANOY CITY – A Shenandoah man is facing a felony trespassing charge, accused of attempting to break into his ex’s home and licking the back window in the process.
Tyler Paniagua, 24, of Shenandoah, was arraigned on March 10 on a felony criminal trespass charge and summary disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Patrolman Jordan Smith of the Mahanoy City Police Department, the incident happened on Feb. 24 around 1am.
Police were called to a home in the 100 block of West Pine Street for a report of the caller’s ex-boyfriend attempting to kick in the front door.
Arriving officers were told Paniagua was seen at the back window standing and “licking the window.”
He then came around to the front of the house and attempted to kick in the front door.
Paniagua was arraigned and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
