NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a collection of police incidents reported by local law enforcement agencies in our region.

Burglary

SHENANDOAH – A man is in Schuylkill County Prison, accused of breaking into his ex’s Shenandoah home last week.

Victor Lantigua-Gutierrez, 40, was arraigned on felony burglary and criminal trespassing charges last Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Shenandoah Police Lt. Cody Applegate and Captain Travis Bowman, officers were called to a home on North White Street around 1:45am Thursday for a report of breaking and entering.

Lantigua-Gutierrez is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and fleeing.

He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $50,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for Jan 29.

Burglary

TURKEY RUN – A man is in Schuylkill County Prison, accused of breaking into an apartment in the Turkey Run section of town and swiping cash and a credit card.

Cade Clancy, 30, was arraigned Thursday on felony burglary, criminal trespassing, and misdemeanor theft, simple assault, and terroristic threats charges.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Shenandoah Police Patrolman Mark Hysock, officers were called to a home in the Shenandoah Family Development in Turkey Run around 6am Wednesday for a report of a burglary.

Clancy had been evicted from the residence and was found by the current resident laying on a futon in the home, according to the complaint.

Clancy allegedly swiped $200 and a Visa card, using the card at the A-to-Z Food Mart and Redner’s Warehouse Markets. He also allegedly threatened the resident of the home.

He was arraigned Thursday and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 29.

Vehicle Crash

BRANDONVILLE – A Hazleton woman was cited for her role in a crash in Brandonville Friday evening.

The crash happened around 9pm Jan. 9 at Route 924 and Route 339 in East Union Township, according to State Police at Frackville.

Nikaurys J. Aybar Raposo, 30, of Hazleton, was heading north on Route 339 in a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Pamela Matos, 31, of Hazleton was approaching on Route 924 northbound in a 2021 Alfa Romeo 4C.

Troopers said Aybar Raposo ran the stop sign at the intersection, crossing into the path of Matos and causing a collision.

Aybar Raposo was cited for her role in the crash, troopers said.

Theft

BARNESVILLE – State troopers are investigating reported thefts in Ryan Township.

State Police at Frackville were called to State Road around 8:40pm Jan. 7 for a repot of a male wearing all black clothing looking through and entering parked vehicles.

The male was found nearby on Foothill Street and identified as a juvenile.

Troopers added that the juvenile stole money from inside at least one vehicle.

Anyone with surveillance video along State Road and Ball Diamond Road and the surrounding areas are encouraged to check if their vehicles were accessed and/or if anything was taken.
