NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a collection of police incidents reported by local law enforcement agencies in our region.
Robbery
MAHANOY CITY – A Frackville woman is wanted on a felony robbery charge after police say she swiped drinks from a Mahanoy City convenience store and punched the store manager when confronted.
Ebony Robertson, 32, of South Balliet Street, is wanted by Mahanoy City Police on charges filed Jan. 3.
According to court paperwork, Robertson and another woman, Rhakeira Williams, of Mahanoy City, entered the Cocoa Hut in Mahanoy City around 5pm on Jan. 2, took drinks from the drink cooler and concealed them.
The store’s manager confronted the women and Robertson struck the manager in the face with a closed fist, court paperwork says. Security camera footage also captured the incident.
When the manager was struck, police said he dropped his phone and Robertson threw it across the parking lot.
The women left the scene separately.
Robertson is wanted on felony robbery, misdemeanor receiving stolen property, simple assault, and obstruction of law enforcement charges. Williams is wanted on a felony retail theft charge.
Open Lewdness
SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah man is facing a misdemeanor charge after police say he relieved himself in a west end street.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Shenandoah Police on Jan. 7, officers were called to the unit block of South Catherine Street on Dec. 12.
Michael Rush, 38, of West Oak Street, was seen by a neighbor getting out of a Honda Civic at South Catherine and West Centre Streets and relieving himself in the street.
A neighbor’s security camera also captured the incident.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 13 in Shenandoah.
Criminal Mischief
EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP – State troopers are investigating suspected criminal mischief in Northumberland County.
State Police at Stonington said they were called to a home on Upper Road in East Cameron Township around 9am Jan. 4.
Troopers said a 55-year-old woman reported that her mailbox at the end of the driveway had been damaged.
Theft
DELANO – State troopers are investigating after someone swiped a stereo system from a broken down car on Interstate 81.
State Police at Frackville said the theft happened around Dec. 21.
A Hazleton man was heading home on Interstate 81 northbound in Delano Township when his 2014 BMW 328i became disabled.
He found a way home and, when he returned to the vehicle later, it had been broken into and the radio system was gone.
