Police: Armed intruders forced residents into room, took off when alarm sounded
HAZLETON – Police here are seeking several armed assailants they say forced the occupants of an apartment building into a single room during a burglary in the Heights section.
According to Hazleton Police, officers were called to the 400 block of South Poplar Street around 8pm Saturday for a reported burglary in progress.
A victim at the scene told police that “several males forcibly entered the apartment building, armed with weapons.”
While inside, the intruders forced several occupants into one unit.
When an alarm sounded, they took off.
Police said the incident was isolated and the investigation remains active.
