SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah’s annual Christmas kickoff began with Santa’s high-flying entrance around midday on Black Friday and continued with a full slate of events downtown in the evening.

Members of the Shenandoah Valley Drama Club performed Christmas Carols before the community tree lighting at the Veterans Memorial Park next to the AP Damato Post on North Main Street.

Horse-drawn trolley rides lapped downtown, as well.

Up at the Shenandoah Ambulance headquarters, Tom Rentschler showed his model train display, as he does each year.
