MAHANOY CITY – Mickey Holland is used to winning basketball games at Mahanoy Area, albeit in a different gymnasium.
Holland — the namesake of the boys’ gymnasium, where he coached for 33 seasons — is out of retirement and at the helm of the Lady Bears squad this time.

Thus, Joe Alansky Gymnasium — in the presence of Alansky himself — was filled with shirts reading “Mick’s Maniax, Lady Bears Edition” Friday night for the home opener.
His first game was a decisive 50-22 victory over the Golden Girls of Nativity.
