COAL TWP., Northumberland County – The Lady Devils softball squad was on the road today, travelling to Northumberland County to face the Indians of Shamokin Area on the gridiron turf.
Monday’s game was held on Bridy-Ruane Field at Kemp Memorial Stadium in Coal Township.
A makeshift softball field, consisting of nothing much more than bases and a pair of nets behind home plate, was set up in the east half of the football field.
The odd set-up, though, did nothing to slow Shamokin’s roll, as the Indians easily downed Shenandoah 17-0.
