MAHANOY CITY – No, the high school football season hasn’t begun yet.
Shenandoah Valley defeated Mahanoy Area Tuesday on the baseball diamond by a score reminiscent to a gridiron game.

The Devils’ batters were all-but unstoppable at the plate, particularly Owen Kosar and Luke Matta.
The two juniors each had six runs batted in via their combined eight hits — five for Kosar and three for Matta.
Mahanoy Area had no answer for the Devils, scoring three runs to the Devils’ 21.
