RINGTOWN – Ashland Little League’s 9-11 All-Stars completed their 4-0 sweep of round robin play in the District 24 tournament today.
Ashland, entering 3-0, travelled to the valley to face Upper Schuylkill, a combination team for Mahanoy City and Ringtown, who were also undefeated entering Sunday’s matchup at 2-0.
Runs came early and often for Ashland, who amassed an 11-1 lead by the second inning.

With a lead of 10 runs or more after four innings, the mercy rule kicked in and Ashland emerged victorious 18-4.
Ashland swept their four round robin games and will play in the semifinals on Saturday, July 3.
Upper Schuylkill travels to Pottsville on Tuesday to complete their round robin slate.
