PennDOT begins paving project in Mahanoy City

MAHANOY CITY – Surprise! Mahanoy City’s main road is being repaved as crews are still working on Route 54 in Shenandoah.
Word came down to Mahanoy City Police on Wednesday that PennDOT would be in town Thursday for milling on Centre Street in town, according to a Facebook post.
Much of the travel lanes of the road had been milled from one end of town to the other by 5pm Thursday.
Mahanoy City Police said that parking restrictions will impact the north side of Centre Street from 6am to 6pm Friday as well, and paving is expected to prompt restrictions next week as well.
