Paving projects to close valley roads

RINGTOWN – A pair of roads in the Ringtown Valley will be closed to through-traffic for paving projects over the next few weeks.
Zion Grove/Ringtown Road, from Ringtown Borough to Route 339 near Zion Grove, closed today to non-local traffic as PennDOT began work to resurface the roadway.
A detour is in place, using Brandonville Road and Route 339.
“For this work, our Schuylkill County Maintenance crews will be using recycled asphalt to resurfaced the roadway. This process is used on lower traveled roadways,” said Sean Brown, Safety Press Officer for PennDOT.
Zion Grove/Ringtown Road will reopen on May 24, and a few days later, on May 28, Red Ridge Road from Route 339 to Buck Mountain Road will close for paving as well. The two closures are a part of the same project, Brown said.
Traffic from that closure, which will last until June 7, will be detoured via Route 339 and Buck Mountain Road.
