SHENANDOAH – An overheated exhaust fan drew the response of Shenandoah firefighters to the borough’s tallest building Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called around 5:39pm to the high rise at Main and Oak Streets downtown for reports of smoke in an apartment.

Shenandoah Fire Chief Russ Schumack said the incident was minor and caused by an overheated exhaust fan.

Firefighters from Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder, Phoenix, Columbia, and Defender fire companies were at the scene for roughly half an hour before clearing.

The department was assisted by Shenandoah Ambulance and Shenandoah Police.
