NS hosts first youth soccer camp, draws large turnout

TAYLORVILLE – Nearly 80 kids between the ages of four and 14 came to the North Schuylkill Youth Soccer Association field in Barry Township to learn soccer skills Sunday.

The camp is the first held by the North Schuylkill High School soccer program in conjunction with the NSYSA.

Mike Skubel, boys’ head soccer coach, said 78 kids signed up for the event.

Attendees learned the ins-and-outs of the game from players and coaches from North Schuylkill’s boys’ and girls’ programs.

Skubel said attendees were mostly from the North Schuylkill district, though some were from Shenandoah, Tri-Valley, and other districts.
