SHENANDOAH – Our three local school districts received their share of over $53 Million awarded by the state in school safety grants, state Senator David G. Argall (R-29/Rush Township) announced today.

Shenandoah Valley and Mahanoy Area both received $30,000 grants, while North Schuylkill received $35,000.

The grants, Argall’s office said in a release, are given to assist schools in the continuing effort to “prevent violent incidents.”

“Our children are our future, and making sure they have a safe environment to learn and grow in is critically important.  These grants will go a long way to ensuring these schools will provide just that,” said Argall in a media release.
