No holiday decoration contest this year

SHENANDOAH – Our annual holiday decoration contest, the only regional contest in the area, is taking a hiatus this year.
Started in 2017, the contest covered the entire Sentinel coverage area, from Sheppton to Frackville and Ashland to Mahanoy City, and received about 10 to 20 entries in the two years it was held.
This year, for a wide variety of circumstances, we’ve decided to hold off on hosting the contest, to regroup and figure out what direction we’d like to take it in, which is best for both us and entrants.
Additionally, this year, we would’ve had to find a new supplier for our fliers as the previous supplier closed its doors earlier this year.
We’ve been fielding questions frequently the past few weeks asking if we’d host it this year. While we won’t this year, we’re hoping to be able to next year. Look out for it next November.
