Nearly 3,500 without power in Greater Hazleton; 400 in Northern Schuylkill
HAZLETON – Weather-related power outages are impacting nearly 3,500 PPL customers in the Hazleton Area and another 400 in the northern Schuylkill area Friday night.
According to PPL’s Outage Map, two large power outages are impacting the City of Hazleton and Hazle Township.
About 1,500 customers are without power in an area stretching from Vine Street east along Diamond Avenue to Stockton and from East Green Street north to the former WYLN building on East 10th Street.
Another 1,500 customers are out in the Hazle Township villages of Milnesville, Harleigh, Ebervale, Kis-Lyn, Lattimer Mines, and around the airport.
About 600 customers in Drums, nearly Butler Drive and Route 309, are also without power.
PPL estimates power will be restored in all three areas by 6am Saturday.
Back home in Schuylkill County, 218 customers in Kline Township in the area of Haddock are without power. Power lines were reported down along Route 309 south of McAdoo borough. PPL estimates power will be restored by 5:30am.
In Morea, 49 customers are out and power is estimated to be restored by 7:30am. Mahanoy City firefighters were called to that village for wires down as well.
In rural Union Township along Pattersonville Road near Brandonville Road, 24 customers are out.
In rural North Union Township west of Nuremberg, 10 customers are without power.
In Creswell Gardens near the North Schuylkill School District campus, 28 customers are without power, and along Germanville Road between Fountain Springs and Lavelle, 4 customers are without power.
South of Lavelle along Creek Road, 11 customers are without power.
PPL estimates a restoration time of 7am Saturday for each of those.
In the area of the Tuscarora State Park, 14 people are out and PPL estimates restoration by 8am.
In the village of Tuscarora, 19 customers are without power and power should be restored there by 2am.
