Narcan emergency kit installed in Mount Carmel
MOUNT CARMEL – A cooperative effort between the police department here and the Susquehanna Valley United Way hopes to save lives.
The police department, in conjunction with the United Way’s United In Recovery program, installed a free naloxone (Narcan) overdose emergency kit box on West Third Street, across from the police station.
Inside the box are individual kits, and the box is self-serve.
“The box contains kits to aid in the event of a overdose situation,” the department said. “No questions are asked and the box is not monitored to identify anyone taking an emergency kit. The kits will be replenished as needed”
They said that kits can be taken at any time and an emergency is not required.
