Mount Carmel woman accused of stealing $180 in merchandise from Hazle Walmart
HAZLE TOWNSHIP – A Mount Carmel woman is in Luzerne County Prison, accused of stealing nearly $180 in merchandise from the Walmart here.
Kristina Magula, 50, of Mount Carmel, is facing two counts of felony retail theft for the incident.
State Police at Hazleton said they were called to Walmart around 11pm on Feb. 24 for a reported retail theft.
Troopers said Magula entered Walmart and concealed multiple items and ticket-swapped others “with the intention of depriving Walmart of its full retail value.”
She was arraigned and committed to Luzerne County Prison unable to post 10% of $2,500 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday in Luzerne County Central Court.
