More than two dozen dogs seized from Ashland home

ASHLAND – An Ashland woman was cited and 26 dogs were seized Friday from an Ashland home.
According to Ashland Police, the Pennsylvania State Dog Warden received information that a home on Walnut Street in the borough had “a large amount of dogs in the residence.”
Ashland Police, the dog warden, and members of both the Hillside and Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCAs went to the home Friday and seized 26 dogs.
Judith Weihl, 62, was cited for the unlawful operation of a dog kennel without a license, no dog license, and no rabies vaccination, police said. All are summary offenses filed by Richard Hine with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Dog Law.
