‘Miracle on Main Street’ campaign halfway to goal, chamber says at tree lighting
MAHANOY CITY – The Mahanoy Area Chamber of Commerce announced at Saturday’s tree lighting in the borough that their “Miracle on Main Street” lighting campaign is at halfway.
Dawn Frye and Jeff Bowers took to the stage and told the crowd that they had raised $5,000 of their $10,000 goal to line Main Street with snowflake Christmas lights.
The goal was originally $11,000, but they received free shipping, Frye said.
Frye thanked several donors, whose names are on a sign which will be placed on the site of the former Mahanoy City Teen Canteen.
Those donors included the family of Suzanne Keiser Hurst, the Mahanoy Community Events Committee, the Mahanoy City Food Store, Bowers Home Improvements, and JRL Emergency Services in the top two tiers, among others in lower tiers.
Donations are still being accepted and can be made payable to –
