Minor injuries reported in Gilberton rollover crash

GILBERTON – Minor injuries were reported after a vehicle rolled over near the coal company here Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 2pm in the area of the Gilberton Coal Company facility on the east end of town.
Police at the scene told the Sentinel a Buick Encore was headed eastbound on Gilberton Road towards Mahanoy City when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled on its side onto the coal company property.
Initially, occupants of the vehicle were still inside and Mahanoy City’s West End Rescue was called to the scene to assist Gilberton and Frackville firefighters.
Bystanders helped free the victims from the crash before crews arrived.
Minor injuries were reported and the occupants were checked out by EMS at the scene.
The vehicle was towed and removed by Steve’s Towing, Shenandoah.
