Minersville businessman gathering donations to deliver to Hurricane Helene victims
MINERSVILLE – The owner of a Minersville business is teaming up with the police force to gather donations and on top of a plan to prepare 5,000 meals for those impacted by Hurricane Helene in the southeast U.S.
Brandon Kopinetz, owner of the Washington Hotel, is coordinating the effort and will make the trek.
The effort is seeking community donations to be loaded in box trucks and taken down south.
The Minersville Police Department will be the central drop-off point for that and the department invites residents from across Schuylkill and neighboring counties to pitch in.
Donations sought include:
- Bottled water
- Flashlights
- Hygiene products
- Trash bags
- Batteries
- Canned goods
- Cleaning supplies
- Games for kids
- Pet food and supplies
- Baby wipes
- Diapers
- Blankets
- Charcoal
- Matches
- Paper towels
- Backpacks
- Disposable gloves
- Any non-perishable food items.
Items can be dropped off at the Minersville Police Department between 7am and 11pm and all donations are due by Oct. 11.
