Memorial Day ceremony remembers Mahanoy area’s fallen

MAHANOY CITY – This borough held its annual Memorial Day ceremony Sunday afternoon at the corner of Centre and Catawissa Streets at the town’s veterans memorial.
Community members gathered as the Upper Schuylkill Marching Band performed patriotic music.
Members of Mahanoy City veterans groups spoke, as did the Rev. Bob Adams.

Two members of the Upper Schuylkill Band laid the wreath in memory of two area veterans before a traditional 21-gun salute, followed by the playing of Taps.
Kathy Wufsus performed God Bless America as well.
