Man in custody after shots fired, arson in Rush Township

HOMETOWN – Rush Township police have a suspect in custody after shots were fired and a porch set aflame near Hometown Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the unit block of Ben Titus Road around 5:30 Wednesday afternoon, when Rush Township Police responded for reports of an individual firing a gun and setting a house on fire.
Officers arrived, took a 63-year-old male into custody, and seized a handgun while fire crews from Hometown extinguished the fire, which was contained to the front porch.
The male, whose name is being withheld pending the filing of charges, was taken from the scene for treatment.
