Man faces drug charges after Kelayres drug overdose death

KELAYRES – A Kelayres man faces charges after another village man passed away after a drug overdose Thursday.
According to State Police at Frackville, troopers were called to a residence at 8 Fourth Street around 6:00pm for a death investigation, where a 42-year-old man was found dead of an apparent drug overdose.
A search warrant was then executed at the residence, finding 10 bundles of heroin, or 106 bags, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and various items of drug paraphernalia.
As a result, Salvadore Craig, 44, of Kelayres, was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Craig was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Rossi and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $20,000 straight bail.
The death investigation remains ongoing.
