Mahanoy Twp. centralizing operations with new garage
MAHANOY CITY – Thanks to an anonymous donation, Mahanoy Township will have all operations at the municipal complex on West Centre Street soon.
Construction began on a new garage building this week, which township supervisors Chairman Ted Styka said will house the road department and provide a garage for the police department’s fleet.
Currently, the township road department is based out of a garage on the north side of Mahanoy City borough.
The building is being paid for by an anonymous donor, the township said.
In other business at Thursday’s monthly meeting, the township approved:
- Advertising an amendment to the solar ordinance;
- A resolution amending the building permit fee schedule;
- Advertising for bids for the 2023 road improvement project.
