Mahanoy Township PD awarded grant for cameras
MAHANOY CITY – The Mahanoy Township Police Department will soon have new cameras, thanks to a grant.
Patrolman Harry Brown told the township’s Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting Thursday that the department was awarded $10,000 from the Small Rural Tribal Body Worn Camera grant program.
He told supervisors the funding will be used to update the departments body cameras and dash cameras.
The department is one of 24 in the state to receive a grant through the program.
In other business, township supervisors said line painting will be done on Park Place Road and Buck Mountain Road around the beginning of September.
