Mahanoy Township hotel wins platinum award

MAHANOY TOWNSHIP – A Mahanoy Township hotel was awarded the 2018 platinum award by Choice Hotels, according to a news release.
Comfort Inn and Suites, 1252 Morea Road, between Mahanoy City and Barnesville, received the award at Choice Hotels’ annual convention in Las Vegas, where General Manager Janine Murray and Vice President Ken Huebner were on hand to accept, and “were recognized for their superior customer service and operational excellence.”
“Choice Hotels’ Platinum Award winners represent the top 3% of hotels within each Choice brand. The awards are based on a ranking system that measures guest satisfaction, product quality, room condition, cleanliness, and staff service,” read the news release. “These properties have a proven track record of providing exceptional guest service and facilities.”
“This has been a very exciting year for us. We converted our hotel from a MainStay Suites to a Comfort Inn and Suites. Through this transition, our staff has prided themselves on an unwavering commitment to customer service and maintaining a wonderful property. This shows in our stellar guest reviews,” said Ken Huebner, Vice President, Mountain Beauty Group. “Their dedication has been a driving force since day one and has also earned the team Choice Hotel of The Year, and Choice’s Gold and Platinum Awards for superior service.”
Owned and operated by Mountain Beauty Group, the hotel features new lobby and patio areas to provide more relaxing spaces for guests to relax during their stay as well as to accommodate event requests such as weddings and banquets. The team hosts a weekly Manager’s Reception to help guests feel welcomed and part of the hotel’s community. The management staff also works with local venues to offer meal specials and events so guests can enjoy their stay both inside and outside the hotel.
