Mahanoy Township gets $30k grant towards dump truck
MAHANOY TOWNSHIP – This township will soon have a new dump truck, thanks to the assistance of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The federal agency, via its Rural Development arm, announced Thursday that Mahanoy Township will receive a $30,300 Community Facilities Disaster Grant, along with a $49,900 Community Facilities Loan to purchase a dump truck.
The USDA says the truck is needed “because the township’s current maintenance vehicles are all aging and have become costly to maintain.”
“This dump truck will also allow the township to maintain its’ properties year-round,” the USDA says.
