Mahanoy teen pleads guilty to robbery, assault, sentenced to 6 1/2 to 13 years in prison
POTTSVILLE – A 16-year-old boy will spend at least the next third of his life in prison as he pleaded guilty for his role in a marijuana deal-turned-stabbing.
Nazik Jamail Holder, 16, formerly of 635 West Spruce Street, was sentenced Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to felony robbery, aggravated assault, and misdemeanor simple assault.
He was originally facing felony attempted homicide among other charges. He was charged as an adult.
Mahanoy City Police accused Holder of stabbing Marquis Hettrick after a marijuana deal went awry.
Holder, police said, agreed to buy an eighth of marijuana for $20 and then stabbed Hettrick before fleeing.
Holder was sentenced to 6 1/2 to 13 years in prison as well as $300,853.54 in restitution.
