Mahanoy students win viewers choice award in video contest

MAHANOY CITY – Some students from our area brought home some hardware from Reading last night.
Three Sentinel area schools participated in the Berks/Schuylkill What’s So Cool About Manufacturing video contest, including Shenandoah Valley, Mahanoy Area, and North Schuylkill.
The awards ceremony was held last night in Berks County, where Mahanoy Area received the Viewers Choice award, garnering the most votes in an online poll.
Middle schoolers from Mahanoy toured EMD Electronics in Rush Township, the former Air Products plant, and produced a video on what they learned.
Shenandoah toured Clearly Clean, and North Schuylkill toured Masser Potatoes.
