Mahanoy pair jailed in North’d for theft from a lottery machine

RANSHAW, Northumberland County – A pair from Mahanoy City are in the Northumberland County after police say they stole over $800 from a lottery machine at a mini-mart.
Danielle Kapes, 38, and Chad Benjamin, 39, of the 300 block of West Mahanoy Street in Mahanoy City, were taken into custody by Mahanoy City Police yesterday and transferred to Northumberland County.
The pair, police say, swiped $809 in cash from a Pennsylvania Skill Lottery Machine at the Sunoco Mt. Royal Mart in Ranshaw, Northumberland County on June 9.
They were caught on surveillance video at the store which led to the public’s assistance in identifying the pair.
Kapes and Benjamin were arraigned yesterday and sent to Northumberland County Prison, unable to post $10,000 bail each.
