Mahanoy City man charged with assault

MAHANOY CITY – Mahanoy City Police have charged a 20-year-old with assault and false imprisonment after an incident this afternoon.

According to borough police, Glenn Wood, 20, faces two counts of Simple Assault and one of False Imprisonment after police responded to a report of an assaulted female in the 200 block of East Pine Street around 1:30pm Thursday.

Wood was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, in lieu of $25,000 bail.
