Mahanoy Area Chamber honors borough’s elder mothers with dinner

MAHANOY CITY – Last Tuesday, the Mahanoy Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual Mother’s Day dinner for the borough’s eldest mothers.
It was held at the Mahanoy City Elks Lodge and was free for all Mahanoy City mothers 70 years old or older.
Honored at the head of the table were mothers older than 90, including Kitty Bolish and Carolyn Maurey, both 99.
Service Electric Cablevision sponsored each meal and has done so each year, while M&T Bank sponsored the hall rental.
The meal was catered by Francesco’s Restaurant, Shenandoah. Flower arrangements and chest corsages were provided by BeeZ’s Flowers and entertainment by Autumn Falls Entertainment.
