Luzerne County man charged in Shenandoah bank robbery; still on the run

SHENANDOAH – A Hanover Township, Luzerne County man has been charged in the robbery of a downtown Shenandoah bank this week, and remains on the run.

Borough police filed charges against Jamie Lee Johnson, 38, of 92 Columbia Avenue, near Wilkes-Barre, in connection with the robbery.

The robbery occurred around 11:15am Monday at M&T Bank, 2 South Main Street in the heart of downtown.

Johnson faces charges of robbery of a financial institution, robbery with force however slight, robbery threatening to inflict bodily injury, theft, receiving stolen property, and simple assault.

​A call to Shenandoah Police for comment and further information was not answered.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call police.
