Local scholastic athletes inducted into Jerry Wolman Sports Hall of Fame

SHENANDOAH – Outstanding local scholastic athletes were honored at the 53rd Annual Jerry Wolman Northern Anthracite Hall of Fame banquet.

The athletes inducted are graduates of Shenandoah Valley, Mahanoy Area, North Schuylkill, and Cardinal Brennan.

Two special recognitions were made as well.

Tom Hepler, an Ashland graduate, was honored with the first Lifetime Award in the chapter’s history.

He’s the founder of Our Lad’s Football Draft Guide, which he started in 1983.

The hall says his guide was the first of many draft guides and it boasts over 10,000 subscribers today.

Longtime Hall-of-Fame board member Don Bricker was also honored for his 50 years of service to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and his tenure at North Schuylkill.
