SELINSGROVE, Snyder County – Fifteen area musicians took part in the Susquehanna University Honors Band Festival this weekend in Snyder County.

This year’s event was the 32nd annual event the university says is “designed to give talented high school woodwind, brass, and percussion students an opportunity to share passion for music with similarly motivated students from the region and beyond.”

The students spent the weekend at Susquehanna University and the event culminated in a concert Sunday afternoon, directed by Dr. Eric Hinton, Susquehanna University band director.

Five students from Shenandoah Valley, seven from North Schuylkill, two from Mahanoy Area, and one from Hazleton Area participated in the event.

Students from Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland were all part of the event.

Camden Calarco was the first student from Hazleton Area to participate in the event.
