King Kruller reopens under new management

SHENANDOAH – King Kruller’s is back, under new management.
Carrie Valentine reopened the downtown Shenandoah business, hoping to add another chapter to the business’s heritage, which, she says, dates back to the 1940s.
“I wanted to carry on the family business, so, I saw it closed down, and I wanted to take it over,” said Valentine. “I love small towns, I love old buildings.”
The interior of the shop has been updated and renovated, Valentine said.
“We completely remodeled the building and changed the menu a little bit, but we anted to keep everything comparable and still old-fashioned,” said Valentine. “Just trying to keep the hometown feeling and make sure that everybody still has a place to come and enjoy their coffee.”
Valentine adds that she hopes to grow the business “to what it was,” to be a 24-hour shop once again, as a vintage drawing in the window display showed.
The shop is open daily from 5am to 2pm, except Sundays, when it is open from 10am to 3pm.
