SHENANDOAH – Thousands packed the entirety of North Main Street over the weekend, as Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. held the annual combined Kielbasi Festival and Heritage Day celebration.

The event kicked off Saturday morning with the Parade of Nations, typically held in August until its move to May after the coronavirus pandemic.

Contingents represented their ethnic heritage, either carrying flags or banners, wearing ethnic attire, or, in the case of the Mexico contingent, performing an ethnic dance.

Afterward, festival-goers were treated to all sorts of fare, including, of course, kielbasi.

Musical performances were put on at the Veterans Memorial Park aside the A.P. Damato Post.

Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. extended gratitude to all who attended.
