Juvenile taken to hospital after Mahanoy crash
MAHANOY CITY – A teen was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a two vehicle crash on the east end of this borough Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened around 6:00pm Saturday at East Centre and 14th Streets in the borough.
Police said a Jeep Cherokee was exiting 14th Street as a Toyota Camry was travelling along Centre Street, Route 54, when the two vehicles collided.
The two drivers were juveniles, police said, and the crash was attributed to visibility related to sunlight and inexperience.
The two vehicles were disabled and towed from the scene by Steve’s Towing.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The Vulcan Hill was closed for about an hour.
Responding to the scene were Mahanoy City’s West End Fire Co., Mahanoy City EMS, and Mahanoy City Police.
