J.W. Cooper Center seeking volunteer caretaker
SHENANDOAH – The J.W. Cooper Community Center, at the former J.W. Cooper High School, is seeking a volunteer caretaker, according to a Facebook post.
The center, which is attempting to renovate the 1918-built school, needs a caretaker to help with day-to-day activities, “such as putting the garbage out on a Monday evening, checking phone messages and adjusting the heat or lights, as needed,” according to the post.
“Currently, the vast majority of food bank volunteers, painters and maintenance workers live outside of the area and a local helper would be greatly appreciated,” the center writes in a Facebook post.
Anyone interested in volunteering should contact them via email at [email protected].
