In Barnesville, Election Day draws long lines, but not to vote
BARNESVILLE – Some of the longest lines in northern Schuylkill County Tuesday weren’t to vote for the next U.S. President.
The Ryan Township Fire Company, which hosts the township’s voting precinct in one portion of their building, took advantage of the opportunity and hosted a bleenie, soup, and bake sale.

Dozens lined up for dozens throughout the day and, as of 1:30pm, the firefighters had gone through 700 pounds of potatoes for the bleenies.
The sale started in the morning and ran until sellout.
Though the lines stretched out the door for bleenies much of the day, a steady stream of voters, too, came and went from the polling place.
