Hysock returns full time to borough police

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah gained a full-time police officer Monday and West Mahanoy lost one Tuesday as an officer is returning to the borough police force.
Borough Council unanimously approved hiring Mark Hysock as a full-time patrolman at Monday night’s council meeting.
Hysock was working part-time in the borough and was full-time in West Mahanoy Township.
He is the fifth full-timer on the force. Council President Joe Boris says he council hopes to add two more full-timers in the near future.
West Mahanoy Township approved his letter of resignation at Tuesday night’s meeting.
Supervisors commended Hysock for his work in the township. They approved advertising for a new officer as well.
