Hundreds turn out for Shenandoah egg hunt
SHENANDOAH – Bicentennial Park was packed Saturday afternoon for the annual Shenandoah Easter Egg Hunt, put on by the Shenandoah Recreation Committee.
Along with the egg hunt itself, the event featured face painting and other activities, along stands from community groups, including the Schuylkill Hope Center and Shenandoah’s constable.
Egg hunts were separated into age groups as children ages 1 through 12 were welcome to participate.
Eggs were filled with candy and chances for larger prizes donated to the effort.
Volunteer and organizer Eric Becker expressed gratitude for the Schuylkill Technology Center for their assistance as well.
This year’s event was the 9th since the egg hunt’s revival by the Shenandoah Volunteer Group, which later became the recreation committee.
The group also organizes the Halloween parade.
