HS SOFTBALL: Bears sweep Devils in doubleheader
SHENANDOAH – While the Shenandoah Valley baseball squad was dominant on the west end while hosting Mahanoy, it was a different story on the east end in softball.
The Lady Devils hosted the Golden Bears at Bicentennial Park for a doubleheader Saturday afternoon.
In the early game, Mahanoy Area got off to a rapid start scoring, earning 10 runs in the first inning to Shenandoah’s one.
By the end of the fourth inning, the Bears tacked on an additional six to take a 16-1 victory.
Ella Brode, Cadance Poslosky, and Naomi Kowalick led the way for the Bears in RBIs with three apiece. Ella Connolly added another RBI.
Hailey Mrozcka and Kowalick led in runs with three apiece, while Broke and Emma Wagner had two. Ella Connolly, Urijah Fazio, Kayla Long, and Poslosky each added one apiece.
The late game wasn’t much different.
Mahanoy Area took a 14-3 victory in that one. Full stats were not available as of publication.
