HS FOOTBALL: Vikings blank Devils, 54-0
WILLIAMSTOWN, Dauphin County – Shenandoah Valley couldn’t get anything done against the Vikings of Williams Valley Friday night, facing an almost brick wall-esque defense at Stauffenberg Field.
The Devils, on 18 attempts, rushed for -15 yards against the Vikings defense, amassing only 53 yards of offensive production, coupled with 68 yards in the air.
Meanwhile, Williams Valley gained 387 yards against Shenandoah, 219 on the ground and 168 in the air.
Scoring came early and often for the Vikings squad in this rematch of the 2012 District XI 1A semifinal, and the first game of the season for Williams Valley.
Williams Valley earned 28 points in the first half, and another 20 in the third quarter.
A touchdown in the fourth solidified the 54-0 rout.
Next week, Shenandoah (0-2) returns home to host the Colts of Marian Catholic (0-2), who are looking to find their first win of the season under returning head coach Stan Dakosty.
