SHENANDOAH – The Battlin’ Miners only needed one half to secure a victory Friday night against Shenandoah Valley.

The Blue Devils entered the game looking to break the ongoing losing streak, though Minersville’s first quarter performance made sure that wasn’t happening on their accord.

Two Connor Schwalm passes and a Jared Graeff punt return gave Minersville a 21-0 advantage by the end of the first quarter.

Minersville tacked on a few more scores in the second quarter — a Graeff run, Schwalm pass, and an SV safety resulting from an intentional grounding penalty — to take a 38-0 lead into the half.

Shenandoah found themselves on the board in the third quarter, though, with an Owen Kosar run giving them six points.

The Devils (0-6) move on to a busy week 7 with two home games, facing Columbia Montour Vo-Tech (0-5) Tuesday night at 6:30pm, and Panther Valley (1-5) Saturday afternoon.
