HS FOOTBALL: Colts blank Devils, 30-0

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Marian Catholic's #11 Jesse Rodino tries to vault over Shenandoah Valley's #9 Nick Ryan.
SHENANDOAH – The Blue Devils were no match for a stout Colt defense as Marian Catholic earned a 30-0 victory, making Stan Dakosty the 12th winningest high school coach in the state.
Marian entered the game 4-2, while Shenandoah was 2-4.
The Colts got on the board first, with 4:50 left in the quarter. Senior quarterback Bruce Hopeck found senior receiver Nova McGuire in the endzone for a long touchdown pass.
On the ensuing Shenandoah Valley drive, senior quarterback Ben Dempster fumbled a snap, which was scooped up by junior Dylan Rodino, who returned it for a Marian touchdown.

Another pass from Hopeck to McGuire would make it 18-0 at the half.
Freshman running back Rory Dixon would add two more scores on the ground in the second half to add to the 30-0 final score.
The win was Dakosty’s 324th career win, making him the 12th winningest head coach in Pennsylvania high school football history. He is #4 among active coaches, behind Southern Columbia’s Jim Roth, Wyomissing’s Bob Wolfrum, and Strath Haven’s Kevin Clancy, and is #1 all-time in Schuylkill County.
